Modal intern Rhea Malik details her summer across two teams. On product engineering, she explains moving billing and spend enforcement from workspace-level to environment-level budgets — because a runaway agent in a research environment could otherwise drain the budget keeping production alive — and what it's like shipping code touching every request. On the training side, she built low-latency environment budgets and worked on agent-driven RL post-training infrastructure.
