Gemini 3.8 Flash launches at same price and speed, called best general-purpose API model

Google released Gemini 3.8 Flash at the same price as 3.7 Flash and with roughly the same speed, available via the Gemini API, AI Studio, Antigravity, and the Gemini app.
Andriy Burkov argues that same price and same speed make it currently the best model for general-purpose API use; based on benchmarks it may also become the best coding model, though that will take time to verify.
