kwangmooyi says the ratio of AI-written papers he encounters has gone through the roof in recent weeks, urging advisors to actually read student drafts and stop the AI slop — colons, adverbs, definitive statements. cjmaddison adds that deterioration of the literature is a social hazard: students learn field standards from current papers, and once decline starts it's hard to convince them a lab should hold higher standards.
