Researcher says AI-written papers are flooding literature, urges advisors to review drafts

A researcher (kwangmooyi) reports the ratio of AI-written papers hit while reading has "gone through the roof" in recent weeks, urging advisors to read students' drafts and stop the AI slop — the colons, adverbs and definitive statements.
The reblogger cjmaddison adds that deterioration of the literature is a social hazard: students learn field standards from current literature, and once standards slip it becomes hard to convince them the group should maintain them.
