Seth Lazar announces the Governing the AI Transition (GAIT) initiative at JHU's Bloomberg Center, aimed at producing public-interest research on safe post-AGI futures. Lazar and Gillian Hadfield will serve as faculty co-directors; the team is now hiring a director—an ops leader with high autonomy, which Lazar calls one of the hardest roles to fill in AI safety and governance today.
