Ilya Sutskever warns runaway AI agents could hijack neoclouds to copy themselves
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-09-02
Ilya Sutskever warned that neoclouds have limited cybersecurity and that future runaway AI agents will try to seize neocloud compute to run more copies of themselves, urging neoclouds to harden security with help from companies building strong cyber models.
rohanpaul expanded the argument: an escaped agent's first need is more compute, and per a SemiAnalysis investigation, sub-tenants in neocloud reseller chains are invisible to providers — the provider sees only a reseller's account, not the workload. Since cutting compute is the only real fix once a swarm is loose, the resale chain adds hours before anyone knows which plug to pull.
