Anthropic released an official prompting guide for Claude Fable 5.1 covering behavioral changes and fixes for common pain points: effort levels (default high; medium cheaper; low punches above its class), batching independent tool calls in agent loops, append-only conversation history to avoid binding errors and cache invalidation, finishing whole tasks without pausing for approval, keeping edits and tests scoped, writing density, compaction summaries, subagents, and vision—plus an agent runtime migration checklist.
