Uber is cutting about 10% of its workforce (3,300 jobs), its biggest round of layoffs since COVID. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi says years of rapid expansion left the company with slower decisions, fragmented ownership, and too much work spent on coordination rather than building. The company will reduce by 20% the employees seven or more reporting layers below the CEO, eliminate nearly half of its smallest management units, and combine Core Services Engineering and Science.
