Microsoft's Matvelloso pushed back on Dioscuri's LLM-mind claims, arguing they rest on false analogies: a dog is an organic being, AI isn't. Using human terms to explain AI, he says, is like using interpretive dance — inaccurate and opening a world of misinterpretation. The reply targets Dioscuri's two core claims: which mental states are realized in LLMs is ultimately a scientific question, and attributing mental states to LLMs doesn't undermine operator responsibility.
