Large numbers of Tesla Cybercabs are staging in Austin for an invite-only robotaxi launch on Sept 3, 2026, with sightings in New York, Bellevue, Tampa (25 units) and Pittsburgh. Chris Paxton argues Tesla's end-to-end approach—backed by Autopilot's global deployment, driver-in-the-loop data, and the new HW4 compute—could outpace Waymo's multi-sensor safety-first model, with Wayve's 90-cities-in-90-days run showing the learning-based route scales.
