Security researcher @vxunderground flags what may be one of the worst breaches ever: an ID verification company serving hotels, car rentals, and alcohol/marijuana purchases has exposed over 153 million driver's licenses from the US and Canada.
- Unlike typical breaches, the data includes license photos, making impersonation and identity verification far easier for attackers.
- Reports say data on prominent figures, including a US cabinet member, is being sold for as little as $100.
- Anyone in the US who has traveled, stayed at a hotel, or purchased alcohol or marijuana has a high chance of being affected, posing a serious risk to celebrities and public figures.
