Per The Information, OpenAI considered the name "GPT-6" for its Astra model but decided against it. That essentially narrows the options down to "GPT-5.7 Astra" or just "GPT-Astra" — and suggests the company is planning Bel to be the 6-worthy jump.
Blogger Angaisb notes that if Bel turns out to be a huge leap, "GPT-5.7" might undersell it.
