XGRIDS lets you capture explorable Gaussian splats locally on an iPhone
Scobleizer · x · 2026-09-02
XGRIDS has added iPhone 3D capture to its LCC Scan app: walk around a person, object, or small room, and the app builds an explorable Gaussian splat entirely on-device, with no cloud upload needed.
Robert Scoble notes that when he first covered Gaussian Splats three years ago, they required a big NVIDIA card in the lab — now an iPhone suffices, one more example of tech shrinking from lab hardware to pocket devices.
