AI infrastructure startup Wafer.ai has reached $8M in ARR just four months after launching its cloud and has raised a $40M Series A.
Wafer is building a fast AI inference cloud that uses agents to optimize GPUs and run open-source models at industry-leading speeds. The goal is to combine the low cost of open source with the low latency typically found only in much smaller models. YC partners noted that the company achieved 2-3x faster performance running GLM 5.2 compared to competitors.
