Man Uses Google AI to Fake NFL Career, Scams $1.3M

A man tricked Google's AI Overview into certifying him as an NFL wide receiver for the 49ers, using the generated screenshot to defraud 26 women out of $1.3 million. He maintained a fake persona across social media for four years. The FBI complaint notes that search engines and AI occasionally validated his fake identity based on his own fabricated posts.
