Poor man's AR in OpenSCAD: zoom until a 1cm cube is truly 1cm, then measure real parts on screen

An OpenSCAD user shares a "poor man's AR" trick: place a 1cm cube in the scene, then zoom the window until the cube measures exactly 1cm on a ruler. From then on, you can hold physical objects up to the screen to check curves and dimensions against your design.

The context notes this while modeling with cylinders, cubes and hulls in OpenSCAD. Simple but clever, and anyone can replicate it today.
