Alibaba's Qwen app rolled out a back-to-school upgrade, all free:
- Essay coaching: unit-level writing tutoring synced with textbooks, guiding kids to structure essays through step-by-step questions instead of giving answers directly.
- Textbook walkthroughs: new middle-school Chinese and math lectures in "Xiao Jiangtang," building new concepts on prior knowledge, with interruption and follow-up questioning supported.
- Photo-based problem solving: expanded to high-school and college math/physics/chemistry, letting students ask why a specific derivation step works.
