Building a floor-plan maker with Claude in a single HTML file
Liwi808 · reddit · 2026-09-02
User shared a project built with Claude in 5-6 hours: a single-file HTML floor-plan blueprint tool.
Features: Snap-to-grid canvas, room drawing, furniture dropping, and door placement. Advanced features include doors that stay attached when resizing rooms, merging/splitting L-shaped rooms, and undo/rotate.
Workflow:
- Started with a spec; Claude produced a working prototype in minutes.
- Iterative feature addition: describing desired behavior (e.g., door logic), Claude writing code and self-testing in-browser, often catching its own bugs.
- Final polish: UI reorganization and text cleanup.
Result: Zero dependencies, runs offline.
