OpenAI brings ChatGPT into Epic EHR workflows with new healthcare integrations

OpenAI healthcare lead Karan Singhal announced ChatGPT is being connected to the systems healthcare teams already rely on. The update introduces a new EHR integration linking supported Epic environments to ChatGPT, plus a plugin connecting to nine additional industry data sources. He stressed that "healthcare moves at the speed of trust" — AI must meet clinicians where they work, surface the right information quickly, and support thoughtful decisions under real-world constraints.
