Nori Robotics (YC S26) has launched a low-cost bimanual mobile robot priced at $1,688, aimed at developers and researchers. The robot features 19 degrees of freedom, including dual 7+1 DOF arms (1.5kg payload per arm), a 55kg telescoping lift, a differential wheeled base, four RGB cameras, 2D lidar, and a dual microphone array. It uses a Raspberry Pi 5 for onboard SLAM and safety, while heavier ACT and VLA models run offloaded via LAN or WAN. The team achieved the low price point by using high-ratio servos instead of QDD motors and opting for a wheeled base. An open SDK with teleoperation tools and a browser-based simulator are available.
