Dev builds a fully local e-reader app with on-device Gemma Q&A
DynamicWebPaige · x · 2026-09-02
A developer on r/LocalLLaMA built an e-reader app running fully locally with Gemma:
- Automatically injects the book's metadata and current page so you don't have to explain context;
- Intentionally avoids spoiling future plot points;
- Loads the model only while the chat panel is open, then unloads it to preserve speed and battery;
- Fully on-device, nothing leaves your machine.
