OpenAI argues that Apple's policy of encouraging personal iCloud accounts for work, combined with immediate employee escorts off-premises, created the data mixing issues. Apple sued OpenAI and former employees over alleged theft of hardware secrets, but OpenAI contends the suit aims to slow a competitor and discourage hiring. The filings confirm OpenAI has hired about 400 former Apple employees. A hearing is set for October 1.
