Meta Open Sources MetaRoCE Protocol for AI-Scale Ethernet Clusters

Meta has released MetaRoCE, a custom RDMA transport protocol purpose-built for AI workloads on commodity Ethernet. Designed to handle data movement between GPUs at million-GPU scale, it overcomes limitations of standard RoCE in large-scale networks. Meta released the specification, reference software, and compliance suite via the Open Compute Project (OCP).
