LLM-Checker: CLI Tool Scans Hardware to Recommend Optimal Local LLMs
_jaydeepkarale · x · 2026-09-01
Finding the right LLM for your hardware is complex due to variants, quantization, and config constraints like memory bandwidth and VRAM.
llm-checker is a CLI tool that scans your hardware and recommends the exact model you need.
Installation:
- Requires Node 18+
- Global install: npm install -g llm-checker
- Run directly: npx llm-checker hw-detect
Also works on Termux (Android) after installing dependencies.
