LinkedIn cited in 11% of AI responses; one post covered 557 prompts

According to Semrush Enterprise, roughly 11% of AI responses cite LinkedIn, mostly creator posts — and a single post was cited across 557 separate prompts.
The key takeaway: what drives AI citation is not virality or follower count, but how well content matches the user's prompt. A modestly followed account nailing one frequently-asked topic can out-cite a company page with ten times the followers. AI models fan out across dozens of related questions per prompt and need original sources that hold up across that spread.
Semrush's new Enterprise AIO feature surfaces which LinkedIn posts and creators are already cited in a given category, ranked by citation count and topic relevance rather than followers. The author also warns: if nobody outside your company is talking about you where AI models look, polished owned content alone won't get you cited. (Sponsored partnership with Semrush.)
