Why writing principles for AI agents is harder than company handbooks

Just as organizations like Amazon and Google used handbooks to define principles, we now need AGENTS files for our fleet of agents. However, most people lack experience running companies at scale and fail to realize that getting these principles right is highly non-trivial, as each involves difficult tradeoffs.
