Rumor: Claude Fable 5.1 Imminent with Better Agents and Coding
johnseach · x · 2026-09-01
Rumors suggest Anthropic is preparing to release Claude Fable 5.1. While no official announcement exists, AWS Bedrock IDs for the model returned 404 errors (a pre-launch pattern) instead of 400 invalid identifier errors. Fable 5, launched in June, focuses on long-horizon agents and big coding jobs. The leak suggests Fable 5.1 will feature improved long-running coherence, better first-pass code/UI, and fewer false safety blocks, possibly at the same price point or bundled with Opus 5.1, to compete with rival flagships.
