French major research institutes ban non-Mistral models, restricting researchers

Major French research institutions, including CNRS, have banned the use of AI models other than Mistral. Fabien Mikol notes that this hinders researchers or constrains them to use frontier models on personal accounts. AntoineTilloy expressed regret over this situation.
