Teradyne Robotics, parent of Universal Robots (UR), filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Chinese robotics company JAKA's German subsidiary at the Unified Patent Court. The suit covers multiple patents related to hardware and software in force/power-limited cobots, with a potential ruling affecting 17 EU states. UR's CTO stated the move is intended to send a clear signal. UR has sold over 100,000 cobots and reported $100M in Q2 revenue, up 33% YoY, suggesting JAKA may not be the last target.
