Hugging Face unveiled Microduck, a $399 open-source duck robot shipping before Christmas.
- 25 cm tall, equipped with a camera, lidar, and dual IMUs
- Behaviors are trained via reinforcement learning in simulation, then deployed directly onto the physical robot (sim2real)
- Built by Pollen Robotics, which Hugging Face acquired in 2025
- Full SDK, simulation, and RL training stack are available on GitHub
