Polymarket launched a new market betting on whether a single AI artwork will sell for $10 million or more at a major auction house by the end of 2026. The current market probability is 22%.
Criteria:
- Auction Houses: Restricted to Christie's, Sotheby's, Phillips, Bonhams, China Guardian, or Poly Auction.
- Artwork Definition: Content must be substantially generated by AI systems and identified as such by the auction house or credible reports. Works only incidentally using AI (e.g., upscaling) do not qualify.
- Price: The final sale price including buyer's premium, as reported by the auction house.
