Anil Seth, director of the Centre for Consciousness Science at Sussex, clarified his position in a reply: he fully disagrees with his critic, holding that his credence in current "AI consciousness" is close to zero — but explicitly not zero. He argues that dismissing the difference between near-zero and zero as meaningless is a deliberate misreading of his view.
