Samsung shifts to 8-layer HBM4E for Nvidia with ~20% higher speed spec

Industry brief: Samsung is reportedly developing an 8-layer HBM4E per Nvidia's request, cutting stack height versus the planned 12/16-layer designs; Nvidia's speed spec of 17–18Gbps is 20% above Samsung's initial 14.4Gbps samples, destined for NVHBM. SK hynix is studying a memory JV fab in Japan, with chairman Chey Tae-won saying it is scouting sites anywhere with ample power and water. Zhiyuan Robotics' subsidiary Mifeng delivered its 20,000th MEgo data-collection rig to JD, having amassed over 1 million hours of embodiment-free robot training data across 22 scene categories and 500+ fine-grained tasks.
