Hugging Face and Pollen Robotics launch $399 open-source robot Microduck, surpasses $1M sales in 7 hours

Hugging Face and Pollen Robotics have launched Microduck, a $399 legged robot that surpassed $1 million in sales within 7 hours. The hardware features 15 actuators, a camera, and LiDAR in a 25cm frame, weighing under 800g with about an hour of battery life. Out of the box, it can walk, roller-skate, pick up objects, and recover from falls, controllable via gamepad with 7 shipped policies. The training stack is fully open-source, including MuJoCo simulation, PPO training, a 50Hz onboard policy loop, and a browser simulator.
