OpenAI Codex Rust v0.152.0 Released: Vim Search and MCP Enhancements
github-actions[bot] · ghdev · 2026-09-01
OpenAI released version v0.152.0 of the Codex Rust client. Key new features include Vim mode support for / and ? searches with highlighting and navigation; rate-limit banners with actions for usage and credit management; credential-refresh progress in the terminal UI; support for package-style MCP server names; and a new outputtokenlimit setting for MCP tools. Bug fixes address preserving instructions in automatic approvals, restoring working directories in resumed threads, Windows sandbox execution issues, and security protections. Additionally, the planning tool is disabled by default, and plugin recommendation loading is optimized.
