Thread around JPM analyst Gokul's VR200-based estimate: 1GW of AI infrastructure costs roughly $40–45B to build, while frontier labs can generate about $30B in revenue per GW — up from only $10B a year ago. If a cloud provider leases 1GW to an AI model developer, JPM pegs the revenue at roughly $17B per GW.
A reply adds that costs vary by company, with Anthropic around $50B/GW on a blended basis.
