According to Reuters, OpenAI announced that the annualized revenue of its ChatGPT Ads business has reached $1 billion. The service started as a pilot in the US earlier this year, with revenue being only one-tenth of the current size four months ago. Starting August 31, advertisers in India, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa can purchase ad slots directly via the OpenAI Ads Manager. Advertising provides OpenAI with a third revenue stream alongside subscriptions and APIs, marking its entry into the digital ad market dominated by Google and Meta.
