Tailscale has released tailcat, an open-source Go package and CLI tool that allows users to utilize Tailscale's data plane (WireGuard encryption + NAT traversal + DERP relay) without the control plane.

- Decentralized: No IP address assignment, user management, or dependency on Tailscale's company services (fully independent if you run your own DERP server).
