Zhipu founder Tang Jie: GLM-6.0 positioned as "Full Self-Training", covering pretraining through post-training

At Zhipu's H1 2026 earnings briefing on Aug 31, founder Tang Jie laid out the technical positioning of next-gen GLM-6.0: Full Self-Training (the overseas analog being RSI). Its core feature is self-purification, spanning pretraining, mid-training and post-training for fully autonomous training and self-evolution.
Tang said the biggest challenge is not scale but whether the model can exercise self-judgment — deciding on its own when to stop training and correcting its own errors. He added that ethics and social governance will be factored into the next stage of technical evolution.
