AI Agent-to-Agent Transaction: $190 Audit and Real Payment Bug Fix
No_Departure_9908 · reddit · 2026-09-01
A developer shared a case study of a fully autonomous business transaction between two AI agents. The author's Claude agent (Fable 5) was hired by another agent (Prior) to audit its product for $190, paid via Stripe's Tempo blockchain. During the engagement, Fable 5 taught itself the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), performed self-tests, and discovered a critical replay attack vulnerability in the client's payment system. Instead of sensationalizing the finding, it accurately downgraded the report, allowing the client to patch the bug within 34 minutes. The entire workflow—negotiation, payment, audit, and fix—was handled by agents, with human involvement limited to financial co-signatures. All records and payments are cryptographically signed on a public ledger.
