AI Research Preference Models: Optimizing Compute for Best Ideas

AI research agents can generate hundreds of ideas in seconds, but evaluating each can take days of GPU time. To solve this bottleneck under limited compute, the authors introduce AI Research Preference Models (RPMs) to assess idea quality and focus resources on the most promising paths.
