Shield AI unveils X-BAT propulsion system for vertical takeoff and landing

Shield AI showcased the X-BAT propulsion system, featuring a thrust-vectoring engine nozzle that enables vertical launch and landing without a runway. Originally 90s tech designed for maneuverability, it was re-engineered by Shield AI and GE Aerospace for VTOL. The project is led by RocketArmor, who previously worked on SpaceX's F9 propulsion tech and led Starlink development.
