A user found that the slug for Fable 5.1 is already staged on the Amazon Bedrock API: querying it returns a 404 "Model not found" instead of the 400 "invalid model identifier" returned for nonexistent slugs like Opus 5.1 or garbage strings. This pattern typically appears in the days before release, suggesting Fable 5.1 is imminent.
@haider1 speculates that if Fable 5.1 launches tomorrow, OpenAI's Astra could drop on Thursday, arguing OpenAI won't let Anthropic take all the attention. All of this is unverified leak and speculation.
