2026 IA40 list out: SpaceX bought Cursor for $60B, Nvidia reportedly eyeing Hugging Face

Madrona released its 6th annual Intelligent Applications 40 list under the theme "Harnessing the Value of AI." HeyGen announced its selection and thanked Madrona, AWS, Microsoft, Google and other partners.

The report argues applied AI has shifted from experimentation to enterprise readiness: SpaceX acquired Cursor for $60B, Google bought Wiz for $32B, OpenRouter went for $7B, and Nvidia is reportedly acquiring Hugging Face for $12.9B — all past or current IA40 winners. Its central thesis: as frontier models commoditize, value accrues to the harness and aggregation layers around them (Cursor's agentic coding environment, OpenRouter's routing, HF's model distribution), with companies capturing value by owning the strategic layers through which customers access and deploy AI.
