Michael Bronstein, the well-known graph-learning researcher, saluted Gautam Kamath's departure thread. Kamath announced his last day at Waterloo's Cheriton School of CS before going on leave, recalling that in Fall 2017 he applied to 30+ faculty positions, got only 3 interviews and a single offer — Waterloo CS alone saw his potential. He said he remains the department's loudest advocate.
