Launch HN: Almanac (YC S26) – an AI agent that knows your whole company
kushagrchitkar · hn · 2026-08-31
- Three cofounders (friends for 11 years, IIT/BITS backgrounds) launched Almanac (YC S26), a Hermes-based agent that holds full company context.
- The idea came from their painful DIY setup: configuring Hermes, hand-building OAuth apps per connector, feeding context manually, fighting default memory — a struggle shared by YC batchmates.
- How it works: a Hermes agent out of the box, one-click connectors (Gmail, Calendar, Granola, PostHog), with personal accounts (private) and shared accounts (company-wide); cofounders can't see each other's personal accounts.
- The "brain" is two wikis — a personal one (preferences, people, context) and a company wiki (roadmap, blockers) — which the agent reads alongside the raw accounts for a "it just knows you" feel.
