Economist Alex Tabarrok cites new Census data covering hundreds of thousands of US firms: the vast majority are not changing employment due to AI, and among those that are, hiring and firing are roughly evenly split. Noah Smith, reposting, noted that everyone assumes AI is a job killer — but so far the data just hasn't shown it.
