ML researcher Gautam Kamath departs Waterloo CS after years of landmark work

Gautam Kamath, a prominent researcher in ML theory and differential privacy at Waterloo's Cheriton School of CS, announced his last day before going on leave. He recalled applying to 30+ faculty positions in Fall 2017, getting only 3 interviews and 1 offer — from Waterloo — and says he'll remain its loudest advocate.
