NVIDIA engineer: Isaac's value goes far beyond rigid-body physics simulation

In a debate over whether NVIDIA Isaac Sim is bloated, robotics engineer Kyle Morgenstein argues that writing a faster rigid-body dynamics simulator is trivially easy — the hard part is everything else Isaac does.
His list of Isaac capabilities: integrations with model-based control libraries, graphical scripting and animation, direct ROS hookup, simulated people, USD motion recording, swappable CPU/GPU physics backends covering rigid bodies, deformables and particles, and swappable renderers. He adds that Isaac ships a Unity-like GUI with a visual scripting language — people have built full games inside it — and that the current kit-based stack is rough but being overhauled.
