ChatGPT recreated imaginary 1980s album covers that feel like false memories
CapoieraMataUm · reddit · 2026-08-31
A Reddit user who grew up in the late '70s and early '80s had a long conversation with ChatGPT about the visual language of album covers from AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Supertramp and others, then had it generate a set of imaginary retro covers. What struck him wasn't the retro look but that several triggered a strange sense of déjà vu — feeling familiar despite never existing. He asks others of the same generation whether these evoke the same half-remembered feeling.
